Edit pathway

Overview

"Edit pathway" window provides features including search, create, modify and delete pathways.

Search

When users input a name into the "pathway name" text field and then click "search" button, all pathway whose name or synonyms contain the input string will be listed in "similar pathway" tables. Users can choose one of them and the program will list all interactions and entities contained in the selected pathway.

Create

To create a pathway, users should provide the name of the pathway and choose the organism it belongs to. Then user can click "insert" button to create an empty pathway in the database. Before clicking "insert" button, users may add interactions from other existing pathways by clicking "create" button. A "pathway list" window will be displayed and user can choose multiple pathways from it and then clicked "add". All interactions of added pathways will be interactions of the new pathway that users created.

Modify

Users can modify the name and organism of the selected pathways by clicking "modify pathway" button.

Delete

Users can delete a selected pathway by clicking "delete pathway" button. The interactions and entities will not be affected.

Misc

User can choose one interaction in "related reactions" table or one entity in "related entities" table to edit by clicking "edit reaction..." button or "edit entities" button. It is a quicker way than choosing interactions and entities in "pathway preview" window although it is not a visual way.

User can sort the list in any of the three tables by clicking the column headers.
