Merge entities

Overview

"Merge entity" window provides a way to merge multiple entities if they are identical in biological context but duplicate in MetNetDB.

Search

There are two ways to list multiple entities. The first way is, goto "pathway preview" window again and load a pathway, then use mouse to select multiple nodes in the graph or drag a box to cover nodes in the graph. The selected entities will be displayed in "multiple nodes operation" window. Another way to get the entity list is, input the search string in "name" text fields, and click "search" button to search the entities in MetNetDB. The user can input multiple search string by separating them by double commas.

Merge two entities

Each time the merge operation is applied to two entities only. There are three columns in the window. The "new" column means the selected entity will be the entity after merge. The "old" column means the information of selected entity will be combined into the new entity. The "delete" column means the selected entity will be deleted after merging. The selected "new" entity can not be same as the selected "old" entity. The "delete" entity is optional but must same as the "old" entity. After all setting is done, click "merge" button to merge the selected entities. Repeat the steps to merge more than two entities.
