Reference and comment
Overview
Reference and comment window let user browse and input literature information and user comments.
Search terms
The user can input terms to get the references and comments of entities. The program will extract any entities whose name, synonyms and abbreviations contain the input string. Users can input multiple search string by separating them by double commas. When the user choose one entity in the "entity list" table, its references and comments information will be displayed in the "reference list" table and "comment" table.
Create, modify and delete references
To create a new reference, the user choose the reference type and corresponding value. Then click the "insert reference" button. To delete a reference, choose it in the "reference list" table and click "delete reference" button. To modify an existing reference, first choose the reference, and modify the type in "reference type" dropdown list box and the value in the "reference value" text field. Then click "modify reference" button.
Browse the reference in PubMed
When user want to look at the abstraction of the reference, choose the reference in the "reference list" table and then click "jump" button. A new browser will be displayed and it will show the corresponding abstract specified by the pubmed id of the selected reference.
Create, modify and delete comments
The user can create, modify and delete comments by using similar procedure like change references of entities.
Browse the long comment in popup window
For some cases, the comment is too long to display in the cell of "comment list" table. The user can choose the comment in the "comment list' table and then click "display comment" button to show the comment in a new popup window.
