Synonym and abbreviation
Overview
Synonym and abbreviation window let user browse and edit synonyms and abbreviations of entities.
Search terms
The user can input terms to get the synonyms and abbreviations of entities. The program will extract any entities whose name, synonyms and abbreviations contain the input string. Users can input multiple search string by separating them by double commas. When the user choose one entity in the "entity list" table, its synonyms and abbreviation will be displayed in the "synonym list" table and "abbreviation table".
Create, modify and delete synonyms
The users can input a new synonym in the "synonym" text field and then click "insert synonym" button to create a new synonym for the selected entity. The user can also delete a synonym by first choosing one synonym in the "synonym list" table and then clicking "delete synonym" button. To modify a synonym, first choosing the synonym in the "synonym list" table, the selected synonym will be appeared in the "synonym" text field, then change the synonym and click the "modify synonym" button.
Create, modify and delete abbreviations
The users can change the abbreviation of the entity like the procedure to change synonyms. However, one entity should only contain one abbreviation.
Misc
The abbreviation of one locus will be used as the display name of the polypeptide of the locus both in "pathway preview" window and FCModeler.
